The client sought a comprehensive solution for its office building’s nine LAN server rooms that would achieve maximum energy savings while maintaining the environment of its mission critical equipment.
The scope of work for this design-build project included furnishing and installing nine new, independent cooling systems using Mitsubishi wall-mounted indoor units and remote outdoor condensing units located on the building’s rooftop. New wall-mounted Mitsubishi thermostats were installed for each LAN room, providing independent control of the newly installed systems. This installation allowed for the building’s central cooling system to be shut down during unoccupied hours, including week day nights and weekends. Significant energy savings were achieved combined with a substantial one-time energy rebate, resulting in a favorable payback period for the project.
