Value Delivered

EMCOR Services Team Mechanical replaced three packaged rooftop units (RTUs) over a single weekend, in order to avoid disrupting tenants during business hours.

The upgraded rooftop units provide immediate and long-term value to the client, in the form of increased building operation, improved equipment efficiency and reliability, reduced energy consumption, and effective temperature-control with better indoor air quality for enhanced occupant comfort.

Client Objectives

The client’s seven-story, 134,000-square-foot multi-tenant office building was in need of upgraded packaged rooftop units, and the installation needed to be completed without interrupting regular business operations.

Solutions

During this project, the client requested that we place the new units on the existing curb, without making any major structural modifications. Coupled with height restraints from the existing equipment screen, this request made the project especially challenging.

We successfully installed the RTUs according to the client’s unique requests, while also adding electrical heat to the new units and increasing overall equipment capacity in order to accommodate long-term cooling needs. The electric heat functionality offers better temperature control of the individual variable air volume zones and will allow the building to warm up in the morning to maintain occupant comfort.
